A299 Night Closures between Minster & Monkton Roundabouts 16 & 19-23 Mar



Update – Temporary Overnight Road Closures – A299 Monkton Roundabout, Ramsgate – 16 & 19-23 March 2018

Overnight closures of A299 Monkton Roundabout, Ramsgate are planned from Friday 16th March 2018 for up to 6* weekday nights.

*For the final night, the closure is restricted to the A299 Thanet Way only, between St Nicholas Roundabout and Monkton Roundabout

Closures are from 7.00 pm through until approximately 5.00 am each night.

MONKTON ROUNDABOUT and all approaches will be closed for 5 nights

A299 CANTERBURY ROAD WEST will be closed between Monkton Roundabout and Minster Roundabout for 5 nights

A299 THANET WAY will be closed between Monkton Roundabout and St Nicholas Roundabout all 6 nights, and the alternative route on the final night is via A28 Canterbury Road and A253 Ramsgate Road / Canterbury Road

The alternative route for all through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, B2052 George V Road, Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road (B2052 College Road in opposite direction due to one-way system), A254 Ramsgate Road, Margate Road, A256 Haine Road, New Haine Road, Haine Road, A256 / A299 Hengist Way and Canterbury Road West

Thanet-bound traffic on A253 Ramsgate Road / Canterbury Road will be diverted via Sarre and A28 Canterbury Road (Birchington) to join the above route.

SEAMARK ROAD will be closed at Monkton Roundabout and can continue to be accessed from its northern junction with A28 Canterbury Road.

WILLETTS HILL will be closed at Monkton Roundabout and can continue to be accessed from a southern junction (Monkton Street)

The works have been scheduled to be carried out overnight, to reduce their impact

Some delays are to be expected, especially at busier times, so it is recommended that motorists allow extra time for their journeys or consider using alternative routes during these works.

These works are weather dependent, and if adverse conditions prevent works being fully completed within the planned dates given, the duration may need to be extended or some works re-scheduled.
